We had spent the previous day tacking up the Alenuihaha Channel and then rather than come into the valley at night we just reduced sail and slowly sailed through the night out and then back. I had the 12-3am watch and it was a gorgeous, star-studded night, only to be followed by this spectacular sight when the sun came up. Oh yeah, and dolphins swam with the boat for a good ten minutes when we got closer to the valley. Pretty good.
