Nishimura Bay

This is a wild and ruggedly beautiful spot. It seems that it is always blowing 25 knots here, which makes the place a little crazy, but it sure it beautiful.

More of the bay, it is just South of the Northern most point of the Big Island.

more.

Sailing from Puako to Mahukona

It started as a calm sail.

And then it got rowdy as we got into the alenuihaha channel... so we donned our fowl weather gear and had a blast!

All fun.

Makalawena

Lowell, livin' it up swimming off the beautiful white sandy beach of Makalawena, just a few miles North of Kailua-Kona Town. This is truely dreamy beach, but by land it is a rather rough hike over lava fields... fortuately we just went by boat! The Cat in the background belongs to our wonderful friends Ed and Nila.

The Quixotic, Ed has been cruising around the world with this great boat for 15 years and befriending him and Nila was a great gift. We got to do yoga together, boat projects, and just hang out. Thanks for everything Ed and Nila! I can't wait to see you again in some far away port!

Lowell abandons ship for a much smaller vessel.

Dreamy.

Kailua Kona and friends!

Thar she blows! We were able (thanks again to the wonderful Malinda) to stay on a mooring in Kilua Bay, and so we stayed there for about 6 weeks! While there I had a great time practicing ashtonga yoga, playing soccer, making friends, hanging out with the wonderful Steve Brown, rowing a lot, and working on the boat.

Lowell, Steve, and Emmett (where is Vincent?) sitting in front of Kailua Bay, with the Libertatia in the distance! Thanks to Steve for the wonderful visit. I had a great time hanging out, you are a truely wonderful and caring human being, thanks for everything, from the bottom of my heart.

Dad, this picture is for you, although you can't see it very well, the boat is out there in Kailua Bay, and this picture is taken from the place you stayed before! Love you!

Submarine!!!!

We got to go in the submarine in Kailua Kona thanks to the wonderful Malinda! Emmett, Steve, Lowell, and I had an awesome time!

You can't tell so much from the pictures, but it was really really cool to be in the sub. It makes me really excited to learn to scuba!

Sideways...opps. But still a cool ship wreck!

Fishes fishes fishes!

Maui Wowie

Well if this isn't the good life, I don't know what is.

Sailing down the west coast of Maui.

Captain Wai'ele at the helm!

More of the Maui coast, a place that demands more exploration from the crew of the Libertatia!
