Field Dressing a Deer on the Libertatia:

Wai'ele, goddess of the hunt, getting down to some butchering in her sunday finest!

This was my first time really skinning and butchering, it was very interesting and pretty neat to learn.

humm.

From that, to this: delicious, delicious jerky! We sliced the meat very thin and then marinated it in a homemade teriaki concauction and then left it to dry in the Lanai sun and wind and presto-change-o, in a few hours we had prime eating, choke venison jerky. All in a good day's work! We also cut up a bunch of the meat and salted it and left it in jars... and of course we ate some for dinner!

Deer, It's what's for dinner

Wait, this is not the deer...

Caught by Emmett and Wai'ele, carried by Emmett over a mile (he was barefoot) over rocky and kaiwe covered cliffs and brought back to the boat for a bit of field dressing.

Sideways picture, but you get the idea.

Brother with his catch... we ate well that night!

My first day in Hawaii:

Thanks to the Drangon's Eye Crew for doing it up right, they picked me up from the airport and took me straight to the beach! It was a welcome change from the white and windy winter in Toronto!

Rabble, rabble, rabble... Emmett and Damon on the beach.

Splendid.

The beach-picnic scene at Beach 69's!

Volcano Nat'l Park

Hiked across this crater (not active)...

and found this beautiful flower in an otherwise deserted land.

Old lava flow, amazing to see.

Sea arch, it reminded me a bit of the Oregon coast.
